Job Title: Business Development Representative
Type of Position: Permanent Full Time
Location: Saskatchewan

Summary

Badger Daylighting is currently seeking a professional Business Development Representative to join the largest Hydrovac business in North America. The Badger Hydrovac system is a non-destructive method of excavating as an alternative to mechanical equipment or hand-digging. Hydrovacs are safer and faster than traditional excavating methods when digging in close proximity to underground utilities. The Badger Hydrovac uses pressurized water and a vacuum system to quickly, safely and cleanly excavate around utilities and pipelines. Applications in the oil & gas and utility industries include trenching, pits, test holes, line crossings, piling holes and debris removal up to 125m from the truck. In addition, Badger also offers shoring rentals.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Business Development Representative, is responsible for actively seeking out new business opportunities for the organization primarily in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. The candidate is expected to focus on developing new clients and strengthen relationships with existing clients.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain existing customer relationships and establish new prospects
  • Actively seek out and identify new business opportunities
  • Field sales
  • Formulate a business development plan for Saskatchewan and Manitoba
  • Respond to client requests and issues
  • Generating and presenting proposals and tenders
  • Conduct presentations to large groups
  • Establish high level of customer service standards
  • Provide daily communication with Saskatchewan Managers
  • Maintain and utilize sales database
  • Set revenue and growth objectives
  • Assist with sales forecasting
  • Participate in tradeshows
  • Occasional assistance with operations – pre job meetings and site visits
  • Assist with business development activities throughout Western Canada as required

Qualifications

  • Oil and gas, utility or construction background. Oil and gas experience and contacts an asset
  • Preference for 5+ years of Marketing/Sales experience in small growth companies. However, candidates with limited sales background will be considered.
  • Operations experience an asset
  • Basic computer skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Strong customer service orientation to build strong long term value-added relationships
  • Proven leadership, teamwork, negotiation, and people management skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to relate well to a wide variety of people (field and office)
  • Professional approach to business
